The Evergreen Congregation voted unanimously to approve the call of Rev. Chris Herrin to Evergreen Presbyterian Church (USA). She will begin at Evergreen in Mid-March.
Prior to Christine receiving her Masters of Divinity Degree from Princeton Seminary in NJ, she served as a Youth Director and Young Life Church Partner at Northwest Presbyterian in Atlanta and worked as a Bank Trust Officer at Trust Company of Georgia. Chris has 26 years’ experience in ordained ministry, as a Solo Pastor in Limestone Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, SC for 5 years, 10 years as an Associate Pastor at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC and more recently 11 years as Pastor Head of Staff at Low Country Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, SC (Hilton Head area).
Growing up, Chris lived in various southern states, except for four years in Scotland. She attended middle and high school in Jamestown, NC, and received her BA from Furman University in Greenville, SC. Chris is married to Dan who teaches English and Composition at a community college. Their rescue dog Jaxx keeps them entertained. They have two children: Jake who lives in Miami, with two big dogs, and Lucy who is at Valdosta State and plays rugby! In her free time, Chris likes to exercise, read, see movies, travel, learn, play in the yard, and play at golf and photography on occasion. It was in her years in youth ministry that Chris began to feel the call of God to seminary. However, it was clear that God was working even before then giving her opportunities and experiences that would shape and grow within her the desire to share with others the good news of God’s love and grace.

Chris is excited and humbled to be called to Evergreen and looks forward to the new things God will do in and through the Church to share God's love in Dothan and beyond.
